CONSUMER ACCEPTANCE GUIDELINES

The guidelines below describe who will be accepted into the iRD-SIE and/or if the individual needs to be accompanied by an assistive support person.

Acceptance Criteria:

• Potential for achieving a more normalized lifestyle by participating in the program.

• Per federal regulations, acceptance will never be discriminated against by race, color, religion, national

origin, sexual orientation, culture, ethnicity, or ancestry.

• Acceptance is based on program space, Consumer profile, and ability to integrate with other participants

and potential for success, appropriateness, and ability to meet consumer needs.

• Consumer Prole for iRD-SIE is in compliance with the guidelines of the C.V.R.C. focusing on providing

social-recreational activities and services for consumers who t the following indicators:

• Age & Gender: Ages 5 through 17; Male, Female.

• Amenable to social-recreational services that encourage a more stable, viable, functioning level.

Ambulatory Status:

• Consumers who are ambulatory with no or mild limitations of ambulation. iRD-SIE is not designed to

serve Consumers who are unable to move independently without assistance or who have mobility

conditions prohibiting ambulatory status. Consumers with moderate limitations in this area will need

to be accompanied by an assistive support person.

Medical Conditions:

• Consumers with mild conditions or needs in medical, health, medication, treatment, physical therapy,

or rehabilitation. Not designed to serve Consumers with a medical condition requiring continual skilled

nursing care or that is rapidly deteriorating and may result in death or injury. Consumers with moderate

limitations in this area will need to be accompanied by an assistive support person.

Self-Help Skills:

• Consumers with mild needs in self-help/care who can maintain skill levels in self-feeding, and toilet training

i.e. bladder, bowel, dressing, grooming, and hygiene. Consumers with moderate limitations in this area will

need to be accompanied by an assistive support person.

Deficits/Behaviors:

• Consumers with mild emotional and/or behavioral challenges who respond well to services that adjust,

decrease, or eliminate inappropriate destructive and/or socially prohibitive behaviors. Consumers with

mild loss of control over emotions/behaviors, and/or inappropriate verbal responses. Not designed to

serve Consumers with issues around substance abuse, the legal system, self-abuse, and violence resulting

in injury or property damage, and/or running away. Consumers with mild-to-moderate limitations in

this area will need to be accompanied by an assistive support person. Consumers with moderate or

Greater limitations in this area will not be appropriate.

Program Integration:

• Consumers with an inability to integrate or benefit from the program, who run away, try to or set

fires, have a psychiatric and/or medical emergency removal, display drug use and/or unprovoked

Violence or immediate danger that exists will not be appropriate and will be removed from the program.
